Mulla Morad ibn Ali Khan Tafreshi (1549-1641 CE) was a theologian, man of wisdom and jurist during the Safavid period. He was also contemporary with Mulla Sadra Shirazi. He learned religious knowledge from Amoli, and Mirza Abraham Hamadani, who was a master in peripatheic wisdom and rational knowledge. Ardabili also mentioned the name of Tafreshi I in the book of ''Summa Narrations.'' Tafreshi left many books both in theology and jurisprudence.
